Call for Singers

The Assyrian Arts Institute is now accepting applications for professional singers for the world premiere of Gilgamesh, a new opera by Derrick Skye (composer/conductor) and Diana Farrell (librettist/artistic director).

This paid opportunity includes casting for two development workshops and a fully staged production at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in March 2026. All roles are open. Singers may be asked to sing multiple roles during the workshop process. While casting for workshops and production will be done separately, we are seeking to build long-term familiarity with the work, and all applicants are encouraged to apply for both phases. This production has no affiliation with any music or theatre unions.

Workshops and rehearsals will take place in Orange County, CA.
Travel and housing are not provided for the workshops.
