Zohra Rawling, a versatile multimedia artist, specializes in ceramics, glass, calligraphy, and classical voice. Notably an opera singer and artist model, Rawling’s artistic endeavors have been featured in numerous exhibitions. Her work is deeply influenced by cryptids and mythological concepts, both established and self-created, inspired by her surroundings. She has collaborated as an illustrator with acclaimed author Brian Francis Slattery and recently completed a 6 by 4-foot prop of the head of Agamemnon for the Madison Lyric Stage company’s production of Elektra. Rawling is particularly drawn to working in miniature and she primarily works with a demanding type of porcelain made with New Zealand kaolin. This material allows her to achieve a remarkable translucent and ethereal quality in her art.
