Dr. Charlene Archibeque
Dr. Charlene Archibeque is one of America’s foremost choral conductors, teachers, and clinicians. Dr. Archibeque was the first female conductor to earn her Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting in the USA. Known for her knowledge of the choral repertoire and performance practice of all styles, Dr. Archibeque is one of America’s top clinicians, has conducted choirs in 44 states, won 7 international choral competitions and has completed 16 concert tours to Australia, Mexico, and Europe. Dr. Archibeque has conducted in many of the major halls including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Royal Albert Hall in London, and with the Berlin Philharmonic. She was the recipient of the Howard Swan Award presented by California ACDA in 2008 and has judged the Golden State Choral Festival several times.
She currently serves on the Board of the American Beethoven Society, is President of the Silicon Valley League of the San Francisco Symphony, and is editor of the Charlene Archibeque Choral Series for Santa Barbara Music Publishing.
